About Sarah

Sarah RyanLike many of us I ‘fell’ into marketing.

I actually studied French & Italian in University College Dublin, Ireland and enjoyed the literature element to the degree so much that I briefly considered going into journalism after graduation.

Unfortunately shortly after the final exams I was diagnosed with detached retinas, in both eyes, which involved a not-so-fun surgery and a lengthy recovery. Afterwards I ended up going into our family’s Firm to assist in the marketing department while I recovered my energy levels, and decided what to do next. However, I ended up enjoying marketing so much that 6 years later I’m still there!

I am very interested in the concept of Inbound Marketing and using the new tools available to us marketers as part of an overarching marketing strategy.

I have also completed the IMU Inbound Marketing Certificate (which I highly recommend to anyone in marketing) as well as San Francisco State University’s Integrated Marketing Certificate.

Regular readers will know that when this blog began I was living in San Francisco, hence the blog’s original title of ‘Life and Marketing in San Francisco’, however after almost 2 years in California myself and my husband moved home to Dublin in December 2011, and hence the new photo of Dublin and the renaming of the blog to ‘Life and Marketing in Dublin’.

Thank you for visiting the blog and I hope you find the posts of value to you. Please feel free to leave comments, all feedback is appreciated.
